Ryan D. Gilsenan practices in the Admiralty and Business Litigation departments of the firm. He formerly served as an engineering officer aboard commercial ships of the U.S. merchant marine, worldwide, and as a marine engineer for Seaworthy Systems, Inc., where he worked with the operation and design of steam, diesel and gas-turbine propulsion plants. As a maritime lawyer, he has worked with owners and insurers of commercial ships to perform causation and damage analyses of collisions, allisions and machinery failure, and to investigate and resolve claims for cargo damage, pollution and personal injury. On the transactional side, Mr. Gilsenan has worked to review and modify vessel charter parties for the oil industry, and to pursue collection matters pursuant to tariffs required by the Federal Maritime Commission. In other areas of the law, Mr. Gilsenan has assisted litigation of cases involving real property, trade marks, contracts, product liability, and construction.
